Introduction to School
Yeoman Park School is a special school for children with severe, complex, profound and multiple learning difficulties. The age range of pupils/students is from 3 -19 years of age and there are currently 85 pupils/students on roll.
The pupils/students can be defined by three broad SEN groupings -Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).
There are 3 classes within the Primary Team (pupils aged 3 to 11), 3 in the Middle Team (pupils aged 11 to 14) and 4 classes in the Upper Team (pupils aged 14 to 19). The Upper Team has an additional 'Pathfinder' group of students who access a curriculum predominantly off-site in preparation for leaving school. Two of the upper school classes are based on the site of the neighbouring comprehensive school (The Manor Academy) in a purpose built sixth form centre on the Manor Academy site.
The school has an extensive catchment area providing education for pupils in the Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood districts of Nottinghamshire. The vast majority of pupils/students travel to school on transport organised by the Local Authority.
